UPDATED: Canada Spies On The Internet
And stops a series of terror attacks. Congrats to Canada’s CSIS.

The chain of events began two years ago, sparked by local teenagers roving through Internet sites, reading and espousing anti-Western sentiments and vowing to attack at home, in the name of oppressed Muslims here and abroad.
Their words were sometimes encrypted, the Internet sites where they communicated allegedly restricted by passwords, but Canadian spies back in 2004 were reading them. And as the youths’ words turned into actions, they began watching them.
According to sources close to the investigation, the suspects are teenagers and men in their 20s who had a relatively typical Canadian upbringing, but — allegedly spurred on by images of conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan and angered by what they saw as the mistreatment of Muslims at home — became increasingly violent.
Police say they acquired weapons, picked targets and made detailed plans.
It appears that the Canadian press didn’t expose the operation– alas, there is no Pulitzer Prize for non-disclosure of a critical anti-terror surveillance campaign, just gratitude.

Terrorism, eh?… Why is the liberal blogosphere so silent about 17 terrorists being rounded up in Canada? Is it because terrorism in Canada doesn’t fit into their warped reality, a reality where the Bush administration has created this threat?… ED NOTE: The Islamo-fascist terrorist threat emerges from historical, political, psychological, and cultural problems within the world’s Islamic communities –primarily Middle Eastern Islamic communities. The US actually has little to do with these internal problems. (See Bernard Lewis’ “What Went Wrong?”) But the lefty multiculturalists, rooted in Marxist drivia, have an investment in blaming the US for everything– including bad weather. Canada is an Islamo-fascist target because it is free, modern, liberal, and rich. Spain is a target because it is free, modern, liberalizing and comparatively rich –and was also lost to Islam in 1492. Egyptian Copts are targets because–well, they didn’t accept Islam when they should have, in roughly 700 AD. Arab Muslim moderates are big targets because they disagree with the Islamofascists. Etcetera.

It is a great time for the Canadian Muslim community to get together and quit making this psychological issue and finally denounce terror. And I’m not talking about a couple of Muslims denouncing it either.
