Hospital ships for the State Department?

It’s an interesting idea.

The Navy’s concern is cost of the ships and deployment costs. But as the post points out the diplomatic benefits of supplying a hospital ship to a nation suffering from a natural disaster are great.

You might want to visit their website at mercyships.org and click on the American flag (or any flag if you speak another language or dialect). It is representing the United States very well indeed in an indirect way, and certainly deserves more publicity than it gets in American media.
