Bomb Blasts in Egypt– Tyrants and Terrorists Are At War With Arabs
Bombs in London. Then blasts in Lebanon. Now two bombs in Egypt’s Sinai, at Red Sea resorts. Economic terrorism? Sure. But terrorism, pure and simple. When will George Galloway and Teddy Kennedy admit Al Qaeda is at war with Arabs and Muslims as well as “the West?”
The Houston Chronicle reports:
At least two large explosions rocked the Red Sea tourist resort of Sharm el-Sheik on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula late today, and a hotel was heavily damaged, witnesses said.
The explosions could be felt miles from the site and smoke was seen rising from the area, witnesses said. There was no immediate word on casualties.
One blast hit the Ghazala Gardens hotel, a four-star resort on the main tourist strip in the Naama Bay area of Sharm el-Sheik, witnesses said. A second blast was heard in the Old Market, another Sharm neighborhood.
“The hotel was completely burned down, destroyed,” said Amal Mustafa, 28, an Egyptian who was visiting with her family and who drove by the Ghazala Gardens.
Khaled Sakran, a resident, said he saw the first blast from the Old Market. “I saw the fire in the sky,” he said. “Right after, I saw a light in the sky and heard another explosion, coming from Naama Bay.” He said he believed there was also a third explosion.

Not only do those two political leaders need to learn we are at war, but the “peaceful Muslims” need to learn they are at war. These attacks may finally let them know they are also the enemy to the terrorists. The Islamists want to rule over all of us and the Muslims who are not extremist are more in jeopardy than we are.

My vote goes to our leaders who respond in kind to these killers and the nations who sponsor their murders. Nothing imaginable can justify killing innocent people who are just trying to get a tan. If these dudes really want a fight, then come on out from your black masks, stupid jihad bs and fight like a man, not a pussy. But they know that we can blow THEM to smashed cells, so they hide in the dark. But their countries of origin cannot hide.

Terrorists demand Egyptian troops leave Iraq Wait, Egypt doesn’t have any troops in Iraq. Or Afghanistan. Nor were there ever.

Two kinds of gov’t: by democracy, enforcing rule of law; by death squad, enforcing rule of the top dog. Harry Potter #6 has a strong description of Diagon Alley as the Death Eater/ death squads are increasing their terror campaign. Those who don’t want rule of law to WIN, thru violence or better alternatives, are accepting a culture of fear. The USA must help anti-terrorists feel that, in a battle, the anti-terrorists will win.

Your assertion that “Al Qaeda is at war with Arabs and Muslims as well as “the West?†” borders on the absurd. This is only true if those Arabs and Muslims are interested in forming a secular state. In spite of recent attempts to distance Al Qaeda from Islam, the truth remains that Al Qaeda views itself as an Islamic movement and bases its primary philosophy on Islamic teachings. While one can argue that they distort the teachings of Islam, it can be argued just as successfully that they are merely following those teachings to their logical conclusion—something “moderate” Muslims are loathe to admit publicly. Besides, if you look at the chosen targets even in Islamic countires such as Egypt, they are almost always targets which to Al Qaeda represent “Westernizing” influeces. As for hitting targets in Lebanon, it must be remembered that Lebanon is hardly a Muslim countiry, nor is it Arab.

Col.Bay, Here’s something I posted earlier this month over at Roger L. Simon re The Honorable Ted Kennedy and his fellow senators that don’t seem to get the reality of the GWOT: ***** How to Lose a War What more do the leftist and the MSM want? President Bush has not waffled on his message, “We must stay the course.” He was re-elected after much debate on this very issue by the American people. […] The LL as well as the MSM are so wracked with anger and disdain for this administration, they can’t see the forest for the trees. We are not bogged down in any quagmire nor is this another Vietnam or is this an US imperialistic colonial movement; no matter how hard they may wish it so or try. […] We need to be honest with the American people. This is a war we cannot afford to lose. We are at war with a very cunning, determined, patient, stateless and transnational enemy driven by and unified in a common bound of a cult-like religious ideology. This a male dominated theocracy of hate and evil from the 12th Century whose stated mission is to destroy all of us - Islamofascism. Please remember this radical movement declared war against the US in 1993. It was only after the 9/11 strikes did we take notice. This ideology is not unlike the other failed ideologies that have been discarded into history’s dustbin e.g., Nazism, Communism, and Fascism. These ideologies couldn’t provide for the needs and wants of the people. They failed to provide an equitable distribution of resources and wealth among the people. The key failure is they do not recognize the fundamental truth of the free will of men and women. In particular, the Achilles Heel of Islamofacisim is its failure to recognize the importance of women. Not until we crush and wipe this ideology from the face of the earth will this war be over. […] Finally, I have yet to hear a coherent alternative strategic plan put forth by the LL and the MSM to win this war. Until they have a plan worth pursuing, the Honorable Senator Feingold, Senator Kennedy, Senator Kerry, and Senator Durbin can: SHUT THE @#$% UP! Their constant gum flapping is sending mix messages to the enemy. This only empowers and emboldens the enemy to kill more innocents and to kill or injure our brave men and women in uniform who go into harm’s way on our behalf. These thoughtless political statements only serve to hurt the morale of our troops. Our military is defending our very way of life, culture, and freedoms we hold dear from the enemy in the GWOT. Tzar Lazar, you don’t get it. You seem to think that because Al-Qaida & their ilk (”AQ’s”) are emphatically Muslims, which they are, they can’t be at war againt Islam. They perhaps are even MORE at war with the Islam than with the West–AQ’s call themselves (the 5% to 20% of Muslims who support terrorism) as the “True Islam” and are fighting to radicalize the “false Islam” of the vast majority. Muslims who promote democracy and minority rights are their deepest enemies. Of course there may be something to the argument that the faith of Islam more readily allows for terrorists than other faiths (5%-20% that support terrorism and 1% who commit terrorism are outrageously high percentages). But that is a completely separate argument, and not a very pragmatic path to pursue. It is important to keep in mind that Islam (the 80%+) is not our enemy, and in fact, is our most strategic ally for this can only be won through Islam’s cooperation, and the chaos will increase if we lump all Muslims together, for they might indeed lump themselves together more and more.

Robert Pape, much cited U of Chicago political scientist, says that all suicide bombings are trying to end an occupation. In this case the occupation is the occupation of hotel rooms by tourists. The other occupations are hotel management, restaurant operation, chef, and hospitality industry worker.
