ABC News Discovers Relative Peace
That’s what the headline says. Someone tell Juan Cole and Jane Fonda.
Please, ABC, interview Howard Dean and John Kerry tonight. Ask Dean about Iraq as Vietnam. And pin Kerry to the wall with this one-two question: “Are American soldiers terrorists? Do the jubilant Iraqis showing up at the polls indicate they think American soldiers are terrorists?” Hey, it’s the kind of belligerent, hard-spin question you ask the President, except this time you would be taking Kerry to task for slandering American troops.
UPDATE: Lt Cdr Smash is writing some great stuff.

Anyone holding his breath out there? Me neither.

I’d like to hear the press ask Kerry what specific incidents he was referring to, names dates and locations, when he alleged that American servicemen were engaging in acts of terrorism against Iraqi civilians, and what steps he has taken as a Senator to investigate those specific incidents.

ABC would never risk it. Think of all the viewers that would tune out. Wait, too late.

ABC? Who was just named as head of the division in charge of covering the White House and Congress? George Stephanopoulos. Remember him? He is a veteran Clinton White House staffer. He was one of the principals in Clinton’s “War Room” and of the attack team that responded to Clinton’s ethical problems by attacking his critics. He is a veteran of the White House that gave us Travelgate, Filegate (probably the most egregious offense ever committed by a President) and Monicagate. Why would you expect anything out of ABC News now when they’re a wholly owned subsidiary of the Clinton wing of the Democratic Party?
