Say it Ain’t So–Diplomad Disappears
Oh no, Diplomad is signing off.
Last night –during intermission at the symphony– I told a friend of mine (retired USAF a bomber pilot) about Diplomad. I described the Diplomad blog as “the best informed and sustained act of outrage on the internet.” The colonel (who is a fan of Bartok, Mahler and B-52s) went home, checked out the site. This morning he had glowing comments about Diplomad. He had plunged into the archives, finding delightful nuggets of Diplomadic mayhem and analysis.
All good things must end, and even great things must conclude. Diplomad, however, is ending much too quickly. Diplomad is/was well-written and very well-informed. As for outrage: the blog eloquently and wittily expressed the disgust of Americans who are tired of the “international elite’s” culture of cynicism, anti-Americanism, spin, and outright lies.
You guys can’t quit. Say it ain’t so.

I saw Powerline’s post on this disappointing news this morning and stopped by the Diplomad to echo your ’say it ain’t so’ sentiment. I doubt we’ll change his mind but there seems to be hope he’ll guest post now and then. Too bad we’re losing one of the few voices of sanity from State, but he’s kindly pointed out two other blogs by fellow Staters, and maybe a few more will get inspired by Condi’s leadership.

I have taken all of the posts at the diplomad and turned them into word documents. LOOOOOng word documents. Each document is one month’s of postings. Zipped up they are only half a meg. If anyone wants them have them e-mail me at hescominsoon@yahoo.com I will be posting this on my blog as well..

Tis a heartbreaker for certain. Definitely one of the best out there and I will be sorry to see them go.
